WE export a lot of beef. It does not help you if you are a vegetarian. WE export a lot of wheat. It does not help you if you are gluten intolerant. WE export a lot of milk. It does not help you if you are lactose intolerant.
Is Australia self sufficient with fruit and vegetables? If so, why do we import so much from the US and China?
WE import a lot of seafood too. Why?
What about chocolate, coffee, tea, canned fish and other canned foods.
If Australia stopped importing food, our supermarket shelves would look very different and prices would increase.
