I remember the incident well.
Bob Hawke weeping may have won over a few Chinese citizens.
However the CCP say who trades.
After all it was the CCP who sent in the tanks to crush the demonstrators.
The CCP had no sympathy for anyone and was sending a clear message to anyone with the same ideas.
The CCP would have totally ignored Bob Hawks crying. Or even seen it as a weakness.
The reason we have a massive trading surplus with China is because we have lazy politicians.
For a long time our politicians have been on China’s tit.
Trading with China and massive immigration has made our politicians lazy and vision less.
Our lazy politicians have put us in a situation where we can’t survive without China.
That’s been China’s vision for us as well.
