Can I just clarify something re Placebo.
Would it really work in this instance, at least for the actual patient. Don't you need to be conscious of the fact you are possibly taking medication to know that it might be helping (which in the case of the placebo, is the mind/body assuming you are on the medication and helping/healing in the short term).
I am clearly ignorant, but I thought these girls would not necessarily be cognisant of the fact that they are on medication, hence the placebo would be invalid for them - for the parents and caregivers, perhaps not so much so as they may interpret what they see as relating to the medication.
Does that make sense? Just a bit confused about the relevance of placebo in this instance.
Perhaps they are fully aware and the need to measure against placebo is entirely relevant.
