I'm not sure it's so far-fetched. I guess the point I was trying to make is that someone has already "put up ... close to $100m upfront for a drug that still has a possibility of failing P3" - that someone is Acadia.
i.e. Either Acadia's confidence is misplaced, or it's possible (depending on the economics) that another company might want to pony up early for another region
I recall reading some articles shared on here indicating that China is hastening their approval of drugs for rare diseases by embracing foreign studies? iirc The studies need to have a number of Asian participants, so I have NFI if that would exclude Acadia's phase III trial (surely nearly fully enrolled now btw?). Unfortunately, I can't find the post. I'd love to read it a little closer in light of @phlipper's ruminations...
