imo nothing short of the collapse in wage labour and a total elimination of green tape will make MRD work.

the only other alternative is to remove the competition. and it looks like xi just did this.

when China denied Japan access to (not so) rare earths, they were flexing their ability to destroy/ruin supply lines.

as we all know, rare earths aren't exactly so rare. but the capital costs where they are found, usually make them an untenable business concern, because the Chinese can always beat them out on price.

what the Chinese did to the Japanese rightly causes a lot of concern. the rare earths, are extremely important to the most basic of technologies these days, and reliable access is imperative.

the west NEEDS reliable access to rare earths. China knows this. so I'm a little surprised they actually went ahead and did this.

I can can almost guarantee you this current eventuation will have the hawks in Washington demanding rare earth protectionism. paying the extra to guarantee supply.

this story may not be exclusive to MRD - any rare earth play in the west will benefit from this development.

but if one was open to a high risk very high reward opportunity; rare earths are very possibly becoming hot property.
