If only we realised that we actually hold significant bargaining power with China and could turn things around in our favour.
    Sell them nothing.!!!
No iron ore, no coal, no anything. This would create some pain for us but also force China to reconsider much of its basic supply chains and create logistical uncertainty for them.
At the moment we act like little children and complain about the heavy handed treatment by "bully" China and then act all happy because they are still buying our iron ore.
When a bargain needs to be struck between parties if one side has total dominance then it will never be an equitable agreement.
We can regain lost markets by offering our primary resources at cheap rates to other producers and give them production advantages to combat Chinese market dominance. China would soon understand that it is better not to bite the hand that feeds you.
it might even create a few new local industries to replace Chinese suppliers.
Oh, and another thing, stop selling our farms,
islands, primary producers and strategic assets to China. It is sheer lunacy.
