Explain then how countries much less than half our size have thriving manufacturing industries?. How does Sweden with high taxes, high welfare, high wages, high education and high medical manage to produce world leading brands of mining , agricultural, trains, coaches and trucks. Who produces Volvo?. Who produces Scania? Who started Ikea?. Even tiny Finland can turn out decent mobile phones.

You are talking nonsesense again. The same old dribble we hear everytime from the right. The Liberal party constant attack on unions in Australia started at the same time we began to lose any manufacturing we had or hoped for.

In Sweden, the Mediation Institute must be informed if unions are considering industrial action, conflicts are usually resolved by mediation first and industrial action is a last resort.

Compare that to the CFMEU.

You reckon we could set up high-end vehicle manufacturing in Australia?
