While the overall trade figures with China are holding up there is a significant change in the export mix:
Some items, particularly Iron Ore (which is nearly 90% foreign owned) are going great while small Aussie businesses such as farming, fishing, lumber, wine etc are being crueled.
It is interesting to not that many in these small Aussie Businesses have supported Morrisson & the Libs in the past.
IMO, it will be interesting to see if they still back ScoMo come the next election.
Could this be a Chinese political strategy by China to alienate ScoMos traditional/rural/small business support and
economically engineer Labor into power come 2022?
IMO we can have both competition & cooperation with China and the same with the USA in order to get the best economic outcome for Aus.
For example on a mega corporate level, Apple & Samsung can be both strategic competitors & strategic partners
(Samsung still supplies Apple with most of its hardware despite years of litigation re IP)
But I suppose when it gets down to the average Joe's ideology, there's only love & hate!
