IMO its reasonable to say that the projected $380 Billion for the Claytons Nuke Subs (Nuclear propelled but not Nuke armed !) is similar to other armed forces budgets which historically have been grossly underestimated and given that delivery is at least 20 years away (longer than normal supplies) it is reasonable to expect that the cost will likely be closer to $1 Trillion than $380 Billion ; that is if the deal ever goes ahead.
IMO this AUKUS gig is code for Aus paying the US for protecting us against China with a half dozen of their own existing Nuke Subs. This IMO could be Uncle Sam's variation on his push to get Europe pay for US protection via NATO ...like hired Nukes!
