I had a longer responses but it simply disappeared… simply Education should not be used as leverage for residency. All foreign students should be forced to return home for at least two years before applying for residency because many locally students are financially being disadvantaged with their presence!
Employer exploit these qualified graduates because they are prepared to work for a dollar or two less per hours. Many of these graduates have wealthy parents who set them up with a house and car etc. A poorer country could miss out on their nearly gained skill etc.
The lecturers were dismissed prior to Covid because of remarks about the quality of certain overseas graduates.
Many local graduates had difficulties in understanding how some uni students from certain countries attained a degree.
I think we have gone past the apogee of multicultural benefits and now it is an expensive downward spiral.
The country has been ruined simply for the benefits of the business community to control wages
