I can't understand why Taiwan doesn't want to be part of a greater China under "one country, two systems" offered by the PRC. If they accept the offer, it would be like Hong Kong which is part of the PRC but it has its own (mini) constitution.

And the Taiwanese Chinese won't lose their inheritance of the huge land mass with its riches of the mainland. It is stupidity to forgo that for a tiny island, which they will never be able to defend it by themselves.

They are Chinese. They should accept "one country, two systems" and remain to be beneficiary of the riches of the huge Chinese territory.
