Saying Putin asked China first to OK his plan to launch military operation in Ukraine is just stupid. Putin is a strong and intelligent leader. He would never ask China such a clearance or approval, because doing that would put him and his country Russia in an inferior position to China. If he dares going to war against the US (NATO), he surely sees Russia as equal to China, and NOT inferior.
China has called for peace between Russia and Ukraine since early last year. The warmonger US and its allies are the ones who cause the war there and keep it going.
