Verm ,its not often we aren't on the same page, but for mine, I think they ( china ) will play a long game, with Taiwan, and as I have said previously opined , will ultimately bankrupt them( with their military purchasing) , or overtake them ,in the semiconductor business, their only ace in the hole economically.
I have some empathy with Chiang kai Shek, and I dont underestimate japans involvement, with the rise of a " different china ".
