I wouldn't pay too much attention to all these overtly pessimistic views of what the future may hold. Yes, some economies will under-perform, but some will continue to perform.
China has been an outstanding performer, both in economic terms in recent decades, and more importantly she has continued to exist as a unitary state. There are some who want to see the disintegration of China for they fear a prosperous and powerful China and the role it will play in world affairs and its impact on the present power relationship between nations, and I believe poster thorburn is one such person.
