Well with ideas like this and their other massive plans like flattening 700 mountains to build cities, there is plenty of need for commodities in the coming years. China isn't over it's taking a break...
The amount of steel and concrete needed in projects like the South to North Water Diversion Project which has been planned for last 50 years and will take another 50 years to finish is mega massive. There will be demand for resources for quite a while yet.
