As an important raw material for high-tech industries such as military and computer industries, the export volume of rare earths produced in China has decreased significantly in recent months. The export volume in the last (July) month 2020 fell to 1620 tons, which was significantly reduced to 69.1% from the same period last year. Kyodo News Agency reported, 80% of the rare earths in the United States are imported by China. If China's rare earth exports stagnate, it may become a new fuse between China and the United States. It also points out that China may use rare earths as a countermeasure against the Trump administration's suppression of Chinese companies.
