However it that were the case, a matter of timing, why does Hubei (where it started and was first reported) show a recovery rate of only 73% whereas these other centres throughout China which, like USA, UK and Australia, caught/identified the disease possibly as late as March, have an almost perfect and rapid rate of recovery and almost no deaths????

As a former statistician - I smell a rat. Used to use similar tricks to track dodgy drivers licence issuing centers. Brisbane issuing centers had about a 50% success rate whereas many country centers were up to 100%. Friendly police officers would issue a driver's license to sons and daughters of locals with only minor if any testing. Lots of licences were issued well after issuing centers were supposed to be closed!! Many please explain letters and officer transfers occurred!!

I think you need to check back the statistic, most cases in other centres throughout China happened at end of Jan and start of Feb, after they announced the lockdown of Hubei Province, not in March. Most cases in Australia who come from China and other part of world were recovered too at the start of March, as show in: disallowed/world/asia/coronavirus-update-live-global-death-toll-passes-3000-as-oecd-sounds-alarm-20200303-p54684.html.
Back then I thought it will be over soon. Then Europe and USA exploded. In fact most Australia's oversea cases are from the USA now, which make me really question the real number of cases in USA as so many people came from USA were infected. Remember the 1000 people who the government evacuated back from Wuhan in Feb, no one was infected.
