China orders state traders to stop buying American farm goods, threatening phase one trade deal

I assume that China has to buy food from someone, to feed it's 1.4 billion population. If it stops buying from the US. Then it appears they may have to rethink their current attitude to trade with Australia.
While Brazil and Argentina may be other good options to buy food from, they have covid19 problems which are exacerbate by close quarters required for abattoirs. If Brazil is the only food suppliers to China, then it does not look good for the Amazon, which they may need to burn down at a greater rate, for more farm land.
