Yep - Agree - contracts will mean nothing. If the long term contract rates remain well below spot then we will see companies refusing to honour their committments. China has only recently started to be better corporate citizens, but the current climate is enuf to scuttle even the best of intentions. The bulk shipping industry is seeing this already and there will be a knock on effect.
The current theme of Sticking with the debt free and the cahsed up seems to hold true here aswell.
