This subject is a huge area for discussion. My comment on the trend is how I approach it when chart reading.

I see some here are bargain hunting gold stocks, that is in a bear gold trend they pick stocks clearly carrying s dead weight chart wise. What are the chances for reversal in the gold stock unless gold price reverse? However if I see a bull trend in a stock in this sector then it is tellingly me smart money knows more than a simple bloke like me. I follow the smart money. Plain and simple. Bottom picking stocks in a sector falling is clearly only for the greedy day dreamers. Once in a while they find a gem but will go broke trying. It is what it is. No offence to anyone in particular.
