    China's Iron Ore Stockpiles Down to 42.38M Tonnes

    SHANGHAI (Interfax-China) -- Iron ore stockpiles in China's 23 major ports amounted to 42.38 million tonnes on 16 November, down 0.16% from the previous Friday, while Indian concentrate stockpiles dropped 2.15% to 6.36 million tonnes.

    The delivery price of Indian grade 63.5% concentrate in the Chinese port of Tianjin declined to RMB 1,480 ($199.18) per tonne last Friday, down between RMB 20 ($2.69) and RMB 70 ($9.42) per tonne from the previous week, while the price of grade 62.5% was RMB 1,320 ($177.65) per tonne, dipping RMB 30 ($4.04) per tonne over the period.



    The delivery price is a combined charge including the iron ore CIF price, import taxes paid to Indian government (if required), value-added taxes and port charges.

    Iron ore freight costs from Brazil's Tubarao Port to Beilun/Baoshan ports stood at $96.16 per tonne on 16 November, up 6.62% from 9 November, while freight costs from Western Australia to Beilun/Baoshan ports reached $38.65 per tonne on 16 November, climbing 4.80% from the previous Friday, according to the latest information provided by Shanghai Mysteel.
