China is playing a dangerous game of brinkmanship because if they attack Taiwan they will get barrage of Taiwanese missiles already targeted and locked in, aimed at China mainland... Many innocent Chinese will die
Then if they follow through with invasion, they will face the US airforce and that means B1 spirit bomber.. this could enter their airspace from virtually any direction and target military and political leadership..
Communist party leadership face the very real possibility of being targets of US military..
Furthermore, China's military islands face the very real possibility of being targeted, invaded and controlled by Allied forces.. potentially forcing them to destroy their own asset to prevent it being occupied
Nothing like using an opponent's assets against them..
It is a really interesting situation but China really does have a lot to lose after such hard won gains economically
