I'm dreading driverless cars so i'll pass on that for a comment. I'm trying to ignore it in the hope it wont be compulsory until i'm incapable of driving.
I haven't got any solar yet because my consumption is so low it's not worth the expense but it's getting closer with every price hike for power.
As far as subsidies are concerned it looks like the power supplier is being subsidised by the customer currently with something like 7c/kWh being paid for their solar power while they charge 24c/kWh when they sell some back.
The federal government paid out about $50billion to gold plate the grid. That means the customer paid not the supplier.
This government is spreading misinformation to support a dying industry. We need to embrace change the same as the commercial end users are because it's cleaner and 'cheaper'.
