1. "If you believe"; This phrase starts to veer into the realm of faith or cult-like thinking. Investing shouldn't require belief; it requires understanding. A rational investor focuses on supply and demand fundamentals, keeps up with sector-wide developments, and critically evaluates competitors; not just their favourite stock. Failing to do so only feeds confirmation bias.
2. LTR isn’t “the best hard rock lithium miner.” That claim is vague and subjective. But even if we entertain it, which objective metric supports it? LTR doesn’t have the largest resource, highest grade, shallowest ore body, lowest strip ratio, lowest CAPEX or OPEX, cheapest energy, most favourable tax environment, closest proximity to port or customers, highest production volumes, standout secondary assets, or any downstream integration. So what exactly makes it “the best”?
3. The idea that robots are coming soon is far-fetched. File that next to the long-delayed Tesla Roadster. And even if advanced robotics did arrive, their lithium content would be minimal.
4. Yes, something is happening (or more accurately happened); it’s called a pump and dump. Once the rising short interest was disclosed, it was obvious. This isn’t some mystery.
5. The claim that short sellers are panicking due to a lack of stock is nonsense. LTR is now the fourth most shorted stock on the ASX, with short interest at an all-time high and still increasing. That doesn’t suggest panic; it suggests confidence.
6. Stop giving financial advice. It breaches HotCopper’s terms. You’re welcome to share your enthusiasm and your personal strategy. But telling others to “hold” crosses into advice territory, which isn’t allowed.
