so no, the sky is not falling, but people are fearful, it's true, and banal websites like stratfor have been bleating the "world is about to end" line because that's what many want to hear.

in the same way many people are just not happy unless they're unhappy, equal numbers of the good folk are not joyful unless they're fearing something, anything, be it nature or man or beast.

how many years have i been browsing stratfor, all sensible years for profit, and all done with a wry smile on my face.

buffet says to buy when people are fearful and blood runs in the streets. this time before us is merely one more in a very long line of such times.
