Yes , indeed, China need for using their own RE. One of reason is China's coal reserve will be running out in 2040s, and 70% of China oil depends on import. And wind and solar energy is cheaper than fossil fuel and is available for massive production. So China next objective would be to secure resource related to renewable energy including RE like we have seen their hands reach Myanmar, Greenland, MP, etc.
