4 for 1? You guys cant be serious. That would give RIO shareholders nearly 50% of the combined entity despite RIO's earnings contributing nowhere near as much. 3.5 to 1 would be the most BHP would offer, if knocked back RIO's sp will slump and the board will have to answer to angry shareholders. Lets get real.
