I get the feeling that even though Varian have said it will not increase their offer, I think they are just waiting in the wings to see which way the board recommends. Given that CDH have reiterated that Fund V is backed by respected pension funds, rather than chinese backed, they are giving surety to the deal. With the bid being 20% higher than Varian, I would think the board is going to find it hard to continue to recommend Varian.
I get the feeling that even though Varian have said it will not...
