Now we are seeing China's true face. In this morning's newspaper there is a report that China could impose "sanctions" following Chinalco's rebuff.
The Chinese Govt's Ministry of Commerce is threatening anti-competition action.
So now we can see how they would have behaved if they had obtained "insider" status in the iron ore game. They would have manipulated everything to their own gain, on both sides of the commercial fence.
And as far as threatening action because the BHP/RIO deal is anti competition, where is the competition to the owner of all of China's iron and steel companies... the central Government????
Not allowed of course.
Hypocrites. Australian industry is well rid of them.
