We can always do the ostrichband stick our heads in the sand and hope that the USA will bail us out if and when our trade relationship with China goes pear shaped. IMO, the USA is in more strife than Ned Kelly already and we should be making money out of trade now; not backing someone else to make money.
Because we are a foreign trade competitor with the USA in farm produce, coal & LNG, what is the US loss in those business areas should be our gain, IMO.
As late as Nov 2019 (pre Corvid-19) the Chinese were cutting deals with Greece:
