This article by the SMH ( not what one would reasonably call a Commo Red Rag) neatly summarises what I have been saying for years except that I take trade diversification aspiration one step further by proposing that we smelt/mill our Iron Ore & Bauxite here and as such diversify trade.
China is building mega factories along the BRI , so why cant we build a few mega Steel & Aluminium mills ( inalienably Aussie owned) to add Aussie value & at the same time diversify trade dependance away from China. This, IMO,is putting Australia first.
Our 'Iron Barons" Twiggy, Reinharts, Wrights & Palmer are raking in the Billions under the current regime so why would the want to change a winning hand?
Its up to us to nudge our Government in the right direction to secure a better future for all Aussies, not just our "iron Barons"
