FACTBOX-China's power shortages by province
BEIJING, July 10 (Reuters) - China's Shaanxi province began
to ration power supplies on Thursday, following similar measures
in recent weeks by other regions, flagging what could be the
worst summer power shortage since 2004.
The government is forecasting a power shortfall of 10
gigawatts for the summer, about 1.4 percent of installed
capacity, but provinces are forecasting more than double this.
The following table shows regions that are either rationing
power or have estimates on expected power shortages made by
local governments or local grids, reported by Chinese media. The
table will be updated when more figures are available.
