Let's go back to World War 2. Northern China was a Japanese colony named Manchukuo and the Japanese were killing Chinese in China by the million.
While the USA and allies like Australia and New Zealand defeated Japan through the island chain and did minimal fighting on the Asian mainland, they did liberate China from empire builders and dominion.
That war did not end with one empire replacing another, but with national independence and the possibility of freedom for all. Communism squandered this opportunity for the Chinese. Pity really, but what can other countries do.
To characterise the USA as a rogue state aiming for Armegeddon are the words of a fool.
Yes, they have just elected a clown as president, yet he is constrained by a legislature, a bureaucracy and a judiciary, all independent of his whims. This makes for interesting media reporting and fun sharemarket trading, yet the impacts on you and me will prove minimal. Unless, that is, you wish to invade Taiwan - a stupid ambition that will be met by steel.
