I didn't mention turnaround - but, if you are suggesting that there's not a turnaround in Chinas stance on an inquiry -

then, it's in fact worse for SCOMO than if there was a turnaround

because it would mean that China intended an inquiry in the first place

and, all bonehead SCOMO had to do was precisely -------------- nothing

whichever way it is - all his mouth has done is to inflame a situation - or ignite a situation -

either way - it's a leadership and diplomatic FAIL

cannot be simpler than that
