The government can take your land. With or without 'just' compensation. Define 'just' compensation, its their definition not yours. For you to fight the 'aquisition' you have to go through state arbitration tribunal(here in WA). Enjoy paying legal fees and getting dragged through session after session costing thousands of dollars each time with half going to your specialist lawyer.
I would know, just went through it. $2,050,000 compensation for 15 acres of land which is worth $5,500,000+.
So yeah, its easier for them to take your property.
