The Chinese regime and its tentacles are devilish.
They are exploiting the freedom of capital flow and open property marketsto expand their reach across the world from the Pacific to Africa and the Americas; in the case of the latter two continents, they are as well exploiting the dire need of capital.
The Chinese regime and its many arms and agents are exploiting liberties and economic openness the like of which they would never permit in China. In Australia, blatant illegal property purchase is common as well.
The regime has many fronts and organs and many of the prospective and actual asset purchases we are seeing are made by entities which are but shopfronts for the Chinese government.
Many Chinese individuals who have emigrated from China are but apologists or are business people who have gained favour and found success by virtue of their closeness to the Chinese government and in effect these people are owned by the Chinese government and everywhere are ready to do its bidding. The more Chinese which any country permits to enter the more of such people there will be; there are numerous such persons here in Australia.
Whatsmore, the establishment of Confucius institutes in universities here ( like the one with which Bob Carr has been involved at UTS Sydney ) and in other places is but the manifestation of the propaganda arm of the insidious encroachment into the West and elsewhere as the Chinese regime seeks to gain political traction and exert influence.
Make no mistake: what the Chinese are up to is devilish and not in any sense in Australia's cultural , political or long - term economic interest.
