The way you write off Australian manufacturing and design is utter bullsh!t and an insult to our country.
Our manufacturing, fabrication, engineering and design capabilities were once the equal to anyone else in the world.
We have managed to emancipate ourselves through stupid free trade and government red tape policies that weren't followed by any of our trading partners.
In the process we've gutted the capabilities we once had and we will pay big time for this in the future.
And don't think that farmers are the hardest working people in the country. There are plenty of people working extremely long hours trying to make a living in all kinds of work, and they don't get the luxury of massive government assistance, special tax concessions, monopoly protection of the sale of their product etc that the farmers do.
Maybe time for you to leave the farm for a while, go and get a real job and see for yourself how tough it can be making a living out there in the wide world.
When you cannot hack it anymore, you can scurry back to Dad's farm and drive a tractor for the rest of your life.
