Yes I'd believe it's happening. China has a large population with 56 different ethnic groups so number priority is keeping it peaceful. Controlling the masses and if this means upsetting or suppressing a few minoriities so be it. I'm not saying I agree but it's certainly what I've noticed in my many years living here. They are generally a happy bunch and not an 'individualist thinking' country like ours so I don't think they mind. I probably shouldn't be writing this but thank god for VPN
