Will be interesting to see whether acquisitions will focus on low cost mines only, or if a slightly higher cost production is not an issue (are acquirers gold bulls?).

Some analysis from the 2013Q1 gold production report at goldproduction.com.au : Weighted average C1 cost was US$892 per ounce. Smallest C1 is Medusa's Co-O project at US$296. Largest C1 is Focus Minerals' Coolgardie project at US$2500

Quite a significant range in production costs across the market.
