The more I look at it, the more it would appear that a counter-bid was always (very likely - although not certain) going to come out swinging at the 11th hour after the permits are granted.

Even if HanLong didn't king hit Sundance when the market was down with the now infamous 45 cents heist, a counter-bid IMO would be timed before the final vote.

If that's the case, then George Jones may have been in close dicussions with good company during the entire period since Han Long snatched the Talbot share.

Just a thought.
