President of China to visit Perth
Chinese President Hu Jintao will visit Western Australia next month. (Reuters)
A high-powered Chinese Government delegation led by the country's president, Hu Jintao, will visit Western Australia for two days next month.
China has invested billions of dollars in the state's resources industry to meet its growing demand for iron ore and other minerals.
A spokesman for the West Australian Premier, Alan Carpenter, says the President's itinerary is still being finalised, but it is envisaged he will visit some trade-related sites as well as attend an official function in his honour.
Mr Hu will be the third high ranking official to visit Perth in recent years.
Premier Wen Jiabao visited Perth last year at Mr Carpenter's invitation, and Chairman of the National Peoples Congress, Wu Bangguo, visited Perth in 2005
