I had a chance to look closely at a Chinese Gibson Guitar the other day. It was a copy of a Les Paul Gold Top.
Well it was a counterfeit of a Gibson Les Paul because they have even put the Name Gibson on the front and on the back it has a serial number and "Made in USA" stamped into the wood the same as a real Gibson.
That is where the similarities end though. Looking closely I could see the frets were all over the place in respect of height. The nuts were just wrong in height and depth of the cut for the strings. The tuning machines were pretty poorly made as well. The longer you look at it the more problems you see.
Im surprised these things aren't illegal to sell in Australia as they obviously attempt to make them to rip off the Gibson patent. They should be illegal.
Has anybody had a good look at these things?

Maybe its time you made a complaint to the relevant government agency in Australia and America......An write a letter to Gibson Guitars if they are still around or whoever owns it now.....
