ae_1492661260598.jpg I got this 59' today, curiosity just got the better of me, for $260 delivered it's pretty amazing. The fret work is excellent, no sharp ends or dead frets, one piece neck, pick ups sound a little tinny but they'll get swapped out eventually, the nut isn't too bad but I'll swap it for a bone one, the body shape and head stock are fairly accurate and the top is gorgeous, the weight and thickness is spot on. The finish is about 9 out of 10 with a few minor blemishes here and there.
Now yes these things are illegal to import and there is a chance they'll get confiscated at customs, that's the risk you take, you'll never stop the Chinese knocking stuff off, it's just how it is. Scary thing is they're getting better at it lately. I have seen some horror knock offs over the years
I've had Gibsons before and own a few Epis, I've got no delusions of grandeur, I know it's a fake and yes I'm a bad boy for buying it but I don't have a spare 8 to 10k for a real lefty r9.
