    Paper [fiat] currencies may be here forever - the real question is the purchasing power of those paper bills that you hold.

    The purchasing power of the $US paper bill is 3% of its worth when the US Fed came into existence in 1913.

    What would prove better in Australia - a pile of your paper or a real asset - say a house.
