China's economy is # 1 in GDP(PPP) now and has been so since 2015-16.
GDP (PPP) is the proper inter country comparison yardstick,,,not GDP (Nominal)

Which would you prefer:
(a) excess housing like China
(b) shortage of housing ..unaffordabe accommodation & homelessness like the USA
China over the past 24 years has accrued a "ship" full of wealth..so much so that
it has close on $3 Trillion USD in US Treasuries , USD Forex & Gold in reserve
despite its splurge on building and the BRIoutside China.
China's urbanisation program (its claim to 21C fame) still happening
with a new 5 year plan and of course urban housing and employment are the key
elements to that plan:
