One could say that that "country" has a GDP/Capita of $1mil.

In the global context that "country wouldn't be considered more
powerful that the poorest country currently on the globe .

So, IMO, GDP trumps GDP/Capita in terms of global power.

But back to China:
The US has not been capable of preventing China closing the GDP (Nominal)
gap (china has already passed out the USA in GDP (PPP) since 2015...hence
the US panic starting with Trump 2016). So rather than rely on its own growth
to stay ahead of China, it has adopted the spoiling tactic of stymieing China's
growth which in essence is economic war.

The UK (British Empire) thried that stunt in the late 19thC/Early 20thC but
that did not save its demise....in fact some say it accelerated it with 2 wars
thrown in for good measure .

The big question is: Will the USA "play it again Sam".
IMO that's happening now but like a fish in a Western Jar, we dont realise it yet!
