During the last Trump regime we has a blimp in our FTA with China in that the 15th Jan 2019 Trump/China Trade deal gave priority to US access to China market in Ag products, thermal coal & LNG.
That lasted until a year ago when Lobster & wine was eventually an allowed Aus exports to China.
No sooner was this cleared up until Trump shennanigans hit us again. effectively negating our US FTA .
The question has to be asked: "Are FTAs worth the paper they are written on whether that be China or US FTAs?
IMO the Trump regime is waiting for an expected change of Gov in Aus so that it can conduct a new bilateral trade deal (without Rudd) thereby gazumping the "existing" Aus/USA FTA.
That said, if the intention of the Trump regime is to extend its newfangled dictates to Aus, then IMO the Aus electorate will tell any party/candidate that sniffs of Trump where to go. There are some red/neck LNP candidated tainted already with Trumpitis IMO.
