IMO China has a better history since 1980 of implementing policy to rectify structural economic problems that that of the USA To assume that China is similar to the then USSR and that its fate is similar is a mistake because both Deng and Xi have structured China's economy to avoid the Soviet weaknesses.
If the US vs China were to be a Super Yacht race, then the US us skulking behind SuperYacht China trying to take the wind out of its sails rather than getting out there and going for it!
