Am I missing the plot with the following analysis? Everyone keeps worrying about Chinese Growth rates falling from averages of over 10% in the 2000's to "only" 7.5% for 2014. The Chinese GDP figures in the 2000's, in US$, average out to about $2trn, compared to around $9.9 Trn today. So 10% of 2tn means $ value added of roughly $200Bn, compared to value added of $745Bn at 7.5% on $9.9Tn in 2014. So what's more important total $ added or the absolute % rate?? Maybe an Economist out there has a viewpoint on this?
