Laixi graphite industry buckles under strictest Chinese water pollution law yet

New rules aimed at limiting pollution of public water courses by the graphite industry in Shandong could force the closure of a number of companies in Laixi city as the government moves to crack down on offenders.
The government of Laixi city in China’s eastern Shandong province has released a list of water-polluting companies which looks set to hammer the region’s graphite producers.
More than 30 companies were named on the list as having illegal waste discharge.
